Read below for our top tips for hair health and how often you should get a hair cut.

How often you cut your hair depends on 2 things

  • the length of your hair, are you maintaining a style?

  • The condition of your hair - do you have dry damaged hair that needs to be maintained in order to get your hair healthy again.

If you have super healthy hair and are neither of the above then congratulations as you are one of few and in this case have you hair cut whenever you like - it’s your hair do what you want with it and don’t be ashamed to say you only get a cut twice a year!

Hair grows on average 1/2 an inch every month, so if your plan is to grow your hair longer getting an inch of every 6-8 weeks is going to slow down the growing process.

If you have a cut that needs more maintenance you are going to be looking at getting a haircut around 6-8 weeks to maintain the style of your hair.

If your finding the ends of your hair are becoming harder to brush and they get knotty easily your probably going to need more than the ends off.

Exclusive tip - if you can see split ends.. you’ve left it too long for a hair cut.

What causes dry hair?

Hair that’s exposed to constant heat, whether via straightening, drying, or curling, needs to be cut more often. This is because heat damages hair and the easiest way to get rid of said damage is to cut it off. It doesn’t mean you have to shave off inches, but getting your hair cut every few weeks will increase your hair health over time.

Chemical services can also cause your hair to become dry, especially if your hair has become subject to over processing due to multiple services.
